Cindy L. O'Brien was first appointed in February 2016, and was re-elected to a new term representing Legislative District 10 in 2020. District 10 includes the Town of Chenango and the Hillcreast area in the Town of Fenton.

Cindy has over 20 years experience with the local municipalities, including the Village of Johnson City and the Barker Town Courts, Chenango Forks and Chenango Valley School Districts and the Broome County Department of Social Services.

She has been involved with many community organizations, such as the Hillcrest Rotary, Broome County Division of the Wounded Warriors Program, Mother of Multiples, and New York State Women, Inc., which helps build powerful women personally, professionally, and politically. She has also worked closely with the Broome County Board of Elections and the Republican Party during election time.

Cindy is a graduate of SUNY Broome Community College with an A.S. in Computer Science. She and her husband, Jim, live in the Town of Chenango. They have five children, twin daughters, Andrea and Nicole, and triplet sons, Jordan, Christopher and Jason.
