Summer Begins At Broome County Parks, Admission Is Free!

     BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive, Jeff Kraham will kick-off Summer 2004 in Broome County Parks on Thursday, May 27th at 11:00 a.m., at Nathaniel Cole Park Beach.

This summer residents and visitors will again be able to enjoy Broome County's park system admission fee free. The $4.00 fee that was reinstated in 2003 at Greenwood, Dorchester and Nathaniel Cole Parks has been lifted.

"Broome County is pleased to once again offer its residents an affordable, day of family fun at one of it's many beautiful parks," said County Executive Kraham.

Opening day for the Broome County Department of Parks and Recreation is Saturday, May 29th. All county parks will be open from 8:00 a.m. until dark daily through Labor Day, September 6th. Swimming, boating, picnicking, hiking and many other activities are available at many of the parks. Please call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 607.778.2193 for specific park information.
