You are invited to the 2009 Annual Senior Citizens’ Picnic & Fun Fest at Broome Community College on Wednesday, June 24, from 10:00 am to 2: 30 pm. 

Come to the Fun Fest for a great summer time experience!  You won’t believe all the things that you can do in just 4 and a half hours.  Win prizes at a variety of new and exciting games like Plinko and ladder ball. Get into the rhythm with an interactive drum circle. Make and take home your own handcrafted jewelry. Browse through two large exhibitor tents filled with information of interest to you.  Dance or just tap your feet to music by the very popular Rich Wilson. 

You can learn how to cook new foods at a cooking demonstration where an expert cook will prepare Grilled Summer Vegetables while you watch.  You’ll even get to taste test the food--and the recipe will be handed out so you can recreate the dish for your friends and family. 

The picnic is your chance to “come on down” and play “The Price is Almost Right” with the Barker Babes in the afternoon. If you are wondering “What is this Wii I keep hearing about?” come find out.  Get some great information on “vital living” and on “how to get a better night’s rest” from our speakers Fran Battisti and Jan Fiori.  Tour the campus in an air conditioned trolley. You can even yell at the fun fest—as long as you’re yelling “Bingo!” that is!  Other picnic activities include face painting, craft sales, and much more.

At noon you can enjoy a delicious lunch of Rotisserie Baked Chicken--plus all the picnic fixings--served in air conditioned comfort.  Advance meal tickets are needed for lunch and can be conveniently picked up at any senior center.  Make your reservation by 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 23, and a meal will be ready for you! There is plenty of parking and handicapped shuttle service is available.

Can you believe you get all this for just $3.00 a person!  It’s a great deal and a fun event.
