Grandparents’ Day Celebration at Senior Centers
Everyone is invited to join the Grandparents’ Day celebration at a local senior center. The festivities begin around 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 7th.
Bring your favorite “brag photos” of your grandkids or bring them along! On the lunch menu: hot dog, macaroni & cheese, fruit, and a chocolate chip cookie.
In addition to lunch, the following centers have scheduled special entertainment: Broome West Senior Center will host accordionist David Hores; Eastern Broome Senior Center will enjoy music by Steve Youngs of “Senior Moments;” and Northern Broome Senior Center will feature children’s activities including face painting, animals, and visits from Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
If you are interested in attending, you must make a reservation by noon, Tuesday, August 6th by calling the center you plan to attend. Lunch is a suggested contribution of $3.50 for those ages 60+ and their spouse of any age, and a charge of $4.50 for anyone under age 60. No one age 60+ or their spouse of any age will be denied service due to inability or unwillingness to contribute.
Please note: Deposit Senior Center will host its Grandparents’ Day observance on Thursday, August 8th, beginning at 10:30 am. Lunch is beef stew over a biscuit, sides, and an applesauce bar for dessert.
