Provides Energy Saving Information All in One Place

(Binghamton, NY) Broome County Government is trying to take some of the confusion out of accessing information on saving energy. Thursday, at a news conference, Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala announced the launch of .

The new website is a partnership between the County and Blue Springs Energy. Blue Springs Energy is a consultant that works with communities to help its residents create energy efficient environments in their homes and businesses and save money in the process.

“Broome County is excited to bring this website to our constituents,” said Executive Fiala. “In addition to learning about the many energy efficient programs and efforts pursued by Broome County Government, with the click of a button, our residents can access information on clean and renewable energy grants and incentives.”
“The website is kind of a clearing house for all kinds of information that can help individuals, organizations, businesses and governments reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills,” said Larry Simpson, President of Blue Springs Energy. “There are billions of dollars of clean energy grants and incentives available but most are difficult to find and to understand.
The RenewBroome website provides useful and easy to access information on things like: Federal tax credits, NY State programs, utility incentives, as well as private sector offerings.
Broome County has made a concerted effort to promote energy efficiency in all of its County buildings and it wants to make sure Broome County residents can access information that can help them to implement some of the same strategies at home or in their places of business. In addition to accessing information on becoming a more energy efficient home or business owner, individuals can also find information on how to buy “green” products and services.

Residents can be assured that when they click into the website on a regular basis the information they will be receiving is updated and relevant. By logging onto, they can also sign up for a newsletter that will be delivered right to their email inbox.
