Broome County Highway Work Plan for Week of 8/27

 (BINGHAMTON, NY) Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and Sue Brown, Highway Commissioner, released the following highway work planned for the week beginning August 27:

Due to the 8/14 flash flooding, Broome County Highway will be focusing our efforts to continue fixing the major damage across the County roadway system.

- The division will begin Cold Mix Paving and Stone and Oil (Chipseal) project on Pierce Creek Road from Saddlemire to Gregory Road with a service contract with Suit Kote. This should begin on or after 8/30, weather permitting.

- On Thursday 8/30, the division is replacing a failed drainage pipe on Twist Run Road, 1000 feet west of Taft Ave. intersection caused by flash flooding. There will be a road closure during this time. Signs have been placed to warn the traveling public of the road closure.

- Brush & tree cutting will continue as well as Sign Fabrication.

Division will be striping County and Town roadways with paint truck.

Guiderail repair will continue along Broome County roadways.

 We will continue hand patching on roadways.

Repairs of catch basins throughout the County will continue.

The Division will continue driveway culvert repair/replacement.
