Over 100 older adults will be celebrated as they cross the finish line on Saturday, September 8th at the Seniors Running and Walking Festival. Open to anyone 55 years or older, this event includes people of all abilities, those who are fast or slow, walk or run, use a cane, a wheelchair, and even those needing someone to push their wheelchair.  Some will be completing their first-ever 5K or their first race of any kind. Events include 1-mile walk, 1-mile run, 5K walk and 5K run.

This “festival” is a celebration of older adults’ abilities, health and well-being.  Following the race, participants get to enjoy live music and refreshments. At the close of the festival, there will be a special toast celebrating each finisher! All participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Race entry fee is just $10.00.

The Seniors Running and Walking Festival is brought to our community by the generosity of Broome County Office for Aging, Action for Older Persons, Triple Cities Running Club, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Good Shepherd Communities. More details can be found on the Web at:
