Road Work Planned for Week of August 13


(BINGHAMTON, NY) Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and Sue Brown, Highway Commissioner, released the following highway work planned for the week beginning August 13:


·         The division will continue the 2-inch mill and pave project on Old Vestal Road from Elm St. to Main St. with a service contract with Broome Bituminous which began on 8/8 should last thru 8/15, weather permitting.

·         The Division will be performing some milling on Peirce Creek Road in preparation for a repaving project in the near future.

·         Division will be striping County and Town roadways with paint truck.

·         Our mow crew will continue mowing the Right of Way along County Roadway system.

·         Guiderail repair will continue along Broome County roadways.

·         We will continue hand patching on roadways.

·         Repairs of catch basins throughout the County will continue.

·         The Division will perform grader patching Hardy, Smith Hill Lewis Roads and Trim St.

·         Ditching will be performed on Page brook, North Sanford and River (Deposit) Roads

·         The Division will continue driveway culvert repair/replacement.

·         The Division will be changing several cross-road culverts on Beartown Road.
