Broome County Promotes New York State Free Fishing Weekend

BINGHAMTON, NY – Broome County Executive Jason Garnar invites residents to join him for New York State’s Free Fishing Days. On Saturday and Sunday, June 24th-25th, Broome County parks and rivers will be available for fishing without the required fishing license.

“Free fishing weekend is a different way to go out and enjoy Broome County’s parks and rivers,” said Garnar. “If you’ve never gone fishing before there is no better time to start.”

The following rivers, lakes and ponds in Broome County are available for use during the free fishing weekend:

Nanticoke Creek

Otselic River

Chenango River

Susquehanna River

Artic Lake (Town of Sanford)

Chenango Lake (Chenango Valley State Park)

Finch Hollow Site 1 (Finch Hollow Park)

Greenwood Lake (Greenwood Park)

Little Choconut 2e (2 miles northeast of Johnson City)

Nanticoke Lake (Lisle)

Nanticoke 7a (2 miles north of the Village of Maine)

Nathaniel Cole Park Pond (Cole Park)

Palmer’s Pond (Deposit)

Patterson Pond #1 (2 miles north of Endwell)

Whitney Point Reservoir (Dorchester Park)
