Broome County and New York State DOT Unveil Signs Honoring Maine Endwell Little League

On Friday Afternoon Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and the New York State Department of Transportation unveiled new signs celebrating the Maine-Endwell victory in the Little League World Series. The signs will be visible to anyone entering Endwell on Route 17 East and West. The signs will serve as a reminder for the players, their parents, the Coaches and all residents of how proud Broome County is of the team's accomplishments.

"In a time where small children are pretending to be professional baseball players and other athletes while they are out playing, kids around Broome County were pretending to be members of the Maine-Endwell Little League team. My kids included," said Garnar. "For months these young men represented Broome County to the highest caliber on a World stage. They deserve this recognition."

Maine Endwell's Little League victory in the World Series was the first by an American team since 2011 (Huntington Beach, California) and the first from New York since 1964 (Staten Island)
