Bevier Street Bridge Closure

The Bevier Street Bridge in the City of Binghamton is scheduled to close on Monday, June 9th at 6:00am as crews prepare to complete concrete deck replacement. The closure could vary by a few days depending on weather and construction production. The tentative bridge re-opening is 4 pm on Saturday, June 14th. Drivers will need to follow the detours outlined below and are encouraged to allot extra time for travel.

On Monday crews will prepare setup for the concrete deck placement scheduled for Tuesday. Following, a few additional days with no vehicular traffic vibration/beam deflection on the bridge are necessary for the new concrete deck to properly cure.

Detours for the Bevier Street Bridge:

• From the east side of the bridge/river (Bevier/Chenango Street Intersection) the detour will follow Bevier Street eastward to Interstate Rte 81 North On ramp (towards Syracuse), take and stay on I81 North and exit at Exit 5( the Front Street Exit). If you take a left at the exit ramp/Front Street intersection and proceed south a short distance on Front Street you will arrive at the Bevier Street/Front Street Intersection.

• From the west side of the bridge/river (Bevier/Front Street Intersection) the detour will be North on Front Street (NYS Rte 11 North), to the on ramp to Interstate 81 South (towards Scranton), continue on Rte 81 South to exit 4N (NYS Rte 7 North / Hillcrest exit), take NYS Rte 7 North a short distance to the Bevier Street Exit, take Bevier Street Exit, turn left onto Bevier Street and continue to Bevier Street /Chenango Street intersection (east side of bridge/river).
