School Located 2009 H1N1 Vaccination Clinics Underway in Broome County

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Broome County Health Department held its first H1N1 school located vaccination (SLV) clinics this week in the Harpursville and Deposit school districts. A total of 640 vaccinations were given between the two districts.

BINGHAMTON, NY – On Monday, November 9, 2009, the Broome County Health Department, located at 225 Front Street, Binghamton, NY, will hold a no-cost H1N1 vaccination clinic for pregnant women. The clinic hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pre-registration is not required.

George Harvey Justice Building Rededication

(BINGHAMTON, NY)Today,Broome CountyExecutive Barbara J.Fiala was joined by former County Legislator Arthur Schafer, C & S Architects and Engineers, county Legislators and staff for the rededication of the George Harvey Justice Building. The historic county property sat vacant for nearly ten years in downtown Binghamton before the county used $17 million in tobacco settlement dollars to refurbish the justice building. Originally built 1939 to house county departments and the jail, the building was later named after George Harvey, a dedicated building and grounds employee who never missed a day of work in his 55 years of service.

(BINGHAMTON, NY) The Chris Thater Memorial Race has once again been included on USA Cycling’s National Calendar—which represents America’s premier events. There are twenty seven USA Cycling events in 2010, seven less than those included in 2009. The Chris Thater Memorial Race will be the final Men’s and Women’s cycling event of the season held on August 28^th-29^th at Recreation Park in Binghamton.
