Preston to Preston to Declare October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month


Broome County Executive Debbie Preston will declare that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month at a news conference on Tuesday, October 1, at 11:30 AM at the Broome County Public Safety Building located at 155 Lt. VanWinkle Drive, Binghamton, NY 13901.


At the news conference, the Broome County Family Violence Prevention Council will also roll out a new campaign to raise awareness about the consequences of domestic violence. 


Domestic Violence is an issue that continues to haunt and hurt families: women, children and men across the nation and right here in Broome County. Victim services is one very important aspect in stopping the continuation of the heart-wrenching and often physically debilitating consequences of domestic violence. Information about local victim services will be provided at the news conference.
