Broome County Veteran Services Looking for Beirut Veterans

(Binghamton, NY) -- Broome County Executive Debbie Preston and the Broome County Veterans Service Agency today announced that they are looking for those who served in Beirut to contact Broome County in order to plan for an upcoming commemoration event.

This year commemorates the 30th year since the bombing of the US Embassy and later the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.

“Our Veterans Services Agency is dedicated to serving those who have served our Country.  These brave men and women have sacrificed so much and it is our turn to give back to them,” said Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.  “I am committed to honoring all of those in Broome County who have served their Country.”

 “If you served in Beirut we are asking you to please contact us,” said Broome County Veterans Services Agency Director Brian Vojtisek. “It is important that we have as accurate a database as possible of those in our County who have served.”
