Broome County Surplus Auction

(BINGHAMTON, NY) – Broome County Executive Debbie Preston today announced the 2013 Broome-County Surplus Auction.  The event will be held on Saturday September 28th at the Broome County Highway Department located at 47 Thomas Street, just off Route 12, in the Town of Chenango. The auction will begin at 10 AM and end when all items are sold.


“This is a great opportunity for County residents to bid on surplus government equipment, vehicles and other miscellaneous items.  There items for bid are from Broome County, Tioga County and cities, towns, villages and school districts within the two counties.  Last year’s auction generated approximately $70,000 of additional revenue for the County, and successful bidders found some excellent deals; it was a win-win for everyone involved,” said Preston.


Municipalities and subdivisions that will participate in the auction include:

·   Broome County

·   Tioga County

·   City of Binghamton

·   Town of Union

·   Village of Endicott

·   Town of Vestal

·   Town of Chenango

·   Town of Kirkwood

·   Village of Newark 

·   Town of Colesville

·   SV School District


Items for bid will include construction equipment, passenger vehicles, trucks, sport utility vehicles, bicycles, and office equipment.

Mel Manasse & Son, Auctioneers, will again conduct this year’s auction.
