Office of Energy Development To Host Northern Broome Residential Energy Workshop

(LISLE, NY) – Broome County Executive Debbie Preston today announced the Broome County Office of Energy Development will host a free Home Energy Workshop on Thursday, June 6th, 2013, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Lisle Fire Company, 9090 Main Street, Lisle.

The Event will help residents understand programs available to help them reduce energy use and annual energy costs by an average of $700.
“After largely successful Energy Seminars for Businesses and Homeowners in Eastern Broome which shattered our expectations, we’re proud to present another Residential Energy Workshop,” said Preston. “We look forward to seeing homeowners in Northern Broome at this Workshop, to learn about the resources available to them and how to save energy and improve the bottom line.”
Broome County residents will learn about Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®, a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) program that uses a “whole-house” comprehensive energy assessment approach to help residents save energy. They will be able to learn about free or reduced-cost energy assessments, cash-back incentives, and low-interest financing options from NYSERDA for making energy-efficiency improvements to their homes.
At the Workshop homeowners will be able to sign up for their free or reduced-cost energy assessment, as well as learn about other energy efficiency program opportunities available from NYSEG.
Although walk-ins are welcome pre-registration is encouraged, to reserve your spot visit www.RenewBroomeCounty.orgor call toll free at 1-866-495-2959.
Another Residential Energy Workshop is scheduled for Western Broome later this Summer.
