(Binghamton, NY) Today, Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala and the Friends of the Forum announced upcoming events and activities to continue the development of the historic theater in downtown Binghamton. On December 11^th the Friends of the Forum will host the Mamma Mia! Gala in conjunction with the Broadway Theater League’s presentation of the musical Mamma Mia!. Additionally, the Friends announced the start of the Take Your Seat Campaign to help replace and improve the seating at the performing arts venue. The Friends of the Forum formed in 2009 and is comprised of Arena Forum Board Members, local business owners, and county staff dedicated to improving the Forum.

 

“I am proud to join with the Friends of the Forum to announce several initiatives and upcoming events to raise funds for improvement projects here at the Forum and help reduce our reliance on taxpayer funds to operate this wonderful performing arts facility,” said Broome County Executive Fiala Barbara J. Fiala.   

 

The Broadway Theater League’s production of Mamma Mia! will take to the Forum stage December 11^th-13^th. The Mamma Mia! Gala and after party will be held in conjunction with the Saturday evening performance of Mamma Mia! The evening of entertainment is co-chaired by Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala and Ron Akel. Tickets to the Gala include: a wonderful meal before the show catered by the Food Consultants Inc., prime seating for Mamma Mia! and entrance to an after party with musical guest: Brotherhood. The cost per ticket is $250.   

 

Court St. Redevelopment has made a generous contribution to become the premier sponsor of the first ever Mamma Mia! Gala. Organizers are currently seeking Supporting and Cast Member sponsors. Sponsorship packages include premier tickets to the event and promotion within various marketing efforts.

 

The Friends of the Forum also kicked off the “Take Your Seat Campaign” to help replace and renew the Forum seating. By Taking a Seat, an inscription will be added to the new seat identifying the contributor’s gift to the Forum. Those who have enjoyed shows for years at the Forum can help ensure continued comfort of patrons for years to come.
