(BINGHAMTON, NY) – Broome County Executive Debbie Preston and Spiedie Fest Event Coordinator Dave Pessagno today announced that the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally will offer free admission to the first day of the Event on Friday, August 2nd, 2013 to all veterans with a Broome County Veterans Discount Card.
“Broome County is dedicated to serving our veterans and showing our thanks year-round through special offers available with our free Veterans Discount Card and at special events like Spiedie Fest,” said Broome County Executive Debbie Preston. “Spiedie Fest is one of the premier Events in New York State; it’s fitting that we thank and honor our veterans in a first-class way at such a prominent Event.”
Broome County Veterans Discount Cards are free to all veterans; cardholders enjoy discounts at over 100 area attractions, businesses and restaurants.
To obtain a Veterans Discount Card, veterans can bring an original DD214 or a certified copy of their DD214 as well as photo identification to the Brome County Clerk’s Office on the third floor of the Broome County Office Building.
This year’s Spiedie Fest Opening Ceremonies will honor veterans for their service and sacrifices with great gratitude on behalf of the entire community.
“Without the service of our military we wouldn’t be able to enjoy great events like Spiedie Fest,” said Event Coordinator Dave Pessagno. “Each year we look to thank and honor those in our community who deserve outstanding recognition; no one is more deserving than our veterans.”
The 2013 Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally runs from Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, 4th at Otsiningo Park.
