Broome County Employees Raise $2,100 For Family Of Employee Killed In Auto Accident

(Vestal, NY) – Broome County Employees came together on Friday, April 5th, 2013 to remember Willow Point Nursing Home employee Joelyn Sines, who died unexpectedly in an automobile accident in February.

A day-long luncheon, bake sale and raffles raised $2,100 for the family of Sines, to assist with expenses.
“Broome County employees are unmatched in their efforts to come together and support members of our employee-family during difficult times,” said Broome County Executive Debbie Preston. “At only 24-years-old Joelyn was one of our younger employees at Willow Point, but she was one of the most caring and dedicated, and a favorite of Willow Point residents and fellow employees. She will be greatly missed.”
Sines was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Willow Point since 2010.
“This special day in remembrance of Joelyn is a testament to the extraordinary person she was, and how many lives she touched,” said Willow Point Nursing Home Administration Kurt Apthorpe. “This is another example of how Willow Point Nursing Home is not just another place to work, but a place that supports its residents and its employees in a way you would expect from a caring family.”
Preston and Apthorpe would like to thank everyone who supported this important cause.
