125 Properties to be Auctioned by Broome County

Binghamton, NY – Broome County Executive Debbie Preston teamed up with Real Property Director David Hamlin to announce details of the upcoming auction of tax foreclosure properties throughout the County and in the City of Binghamton.


The auction is Saturday, November 15h, at the Holiday Inn Binghamton (2-8 Hawley Street) starting at 10:00 am.


Auction bidders must register between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM that morning.


“We have a lot of great properties for sale in this year’s auction,” says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.  “People can come and get great deals on a property.  The County will not only recieve money for the sale of the properties, but will also see these parcels back on the tax rolls.”


The county has 125 properties from vacant lots to residential one and multiple family homes to commercial lots.


The former Masonic Temple in Binghamton is one of the properties for sale.


There will be open houses at several of the properties November 7th through the 10th.


I’m looking forward to our new property owners rehabilitating these buildings and assisting in keeping the neighborhoods moving in a positive direction,” says Real Property Director Dave Hamlin. 


All properties are sold as is.


Last year, the County auctioned sold 125 of the 135 properties up for auction, making $ 503,046.

Maps of each parcel are available for viewing in the office of the Broome County Real Property Tax Department, second floor in the County Office Building, 44 Hawley Street, Binghamton, NY, during regular business hours.
