Broome County Health Assessment Survey

(BINGHAMTON) - The Broome County Health Department is conducting a county-wide community health assessment (CHA) to evaluate the perceptions of community residents to identify and address unmet health care needs. As part of this assessment, they have developed an anonymous community-wide survey that they are encouraging Broome County residents to complete by Friday, August 2, 2013.

The survey asks about a range of health issues, including physical and mental health, whether the health services in Broome County are sufficient to meet the needs of the community, and if it is difficult to get to or use health services. The survey is available at

Under Public Health Law, health departments are required to conduct a CHA every three years and to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) to address public health problems.

Feedback from the anonymous survey, along with information gathered through focus groups and publicly available data will help the Broome County Health Department identify and prioritize the current health needs of Broome County residents.
