4th Annual Broome County Ethnic Festival

(Binghamton, NY) Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala welcomed the community to the Broome County Memorial Arena for the 4th Annual Broome County Ethnic Festival held October 24th from 11am to 5pm. The Ethnic Festival is a celebration of the community's varied ethnic groups and features delicious food, goods and entertainment. Admission is $2 at the door; children 12 and under are free. At 11:00am, an opening ceremony will be held to reflect upon the American Civic Association tragedy that occurred in April.

“Each year cultural groups unite at the Ethnic Festival to highlight our community’s diverse ethnicities,” said Executive Barbara J. Fiala. “The Ethnic Festival is a celebration for everyone to enjoy and experience all of our local cultures.”
Roughly, 58 vendors and exhibitors will be serving ethnic foods and goods throughout the Arena.  Twelve different performance groups will take to the stage to dazzle the audience with their singing and dancing talents. Some of them include: the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Dancers, the Roberson International Folk Dancers, An Fainne Ban, and the St. Michael's Carpathian Dancers.
As part of the “climate action events” organized by the Binghamton Sustainability Coalition, BAE Systems has sponsored free public transportation for all riders on BC Transit buses Saturday October 24th. Those traveling to the Ethnic Festival are encouraged to take advantage of the free transportation in support of this climate awareness effort.
