2011 Chris Thater Memorial Selected for USA Cycling National Series

(BINGHAMTON, NY) USA Cycling, the national governing body for the sport of cycling in the United States, announced its 2011 National Racing Calendar (NRC) which will once again include the Chris Thater Memorial.

The 2011 National Racing Calendar will be comprised of 29 of the nation’s top pro-am cycling races. The national series will feature over a million dollars in total prize money as it showcases North America’s best domestic teams and athletes in 23 states. The Chris Thater Memorial, which marks its 28th year in 2011, will be held August 27-28 at Recreation Park in Binghamton, New York.
“Each year the Chris Thater Memorial showcases our community and the world class athletes who participate,” said Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala. “At the same time the Chris Thater continues to promote an important message about impaired driving throughout the community. We are proud to again be included in USA Cycling’s National Calendar of events.”
